I started writing this a couple of days ago and the events are unfolding. Moscovia, by malice or sheer incompetence, caused a massive disaster for thousands of people and years to resolve.
In the greater world, we’re crossing more and more red lines and “the results are worrying”. Maddeningly
For climate change, the planet had surpassed the just, but not the safe, boundaries — meaning that the temperature rise of 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) from preindustrial levels had been breached and had led to harm to human life, but did not yet threaten planetary stability.
“Did not yet threaten planetary stability”, from what I understand, equals to “we didn’t yet guarantee a quick and painful death to us all. Yet.”
It really is crazy, that instead of saving ourselves (not even the planet), humanity is involved in active self-destruction.

And if you can afford it, Dyson Zone will solve all* your problems.
Just
This was supposed to be a quick and simple post about my little crusade against the word “just”.
Not the entirety of it, a random dictionary check shows it’s not as prolific as “go”, but has a good dozen of meanings to it.
The one meaning of “just”, I’m at war with is “simply”.
I’m quite certain that about at least 80% of the time someone suggests you “all you need is just ____”, they have no idea about the challenge you’re facing.
“Just be happy”.
“Just start going to the gym”.
“Just find a job”.
“Just relax”.
“Just cheer up, and your depression will disappear”.
“Just pay more attention”.
“Just work harder”.
And those people are honest. It was easy for them. Or they imagine it has a simple solution.
They felt sad one day and a funny youtube video cheered them up. Now they know how to cure depression.
They wanted to become financially independent, and conveniently their parents has bought them a condo. Now they are rags-to-riches heroes.
Just do it.
Except it’s seldom “just”.
Except if you are an explosives expert and somebody asks you how to half a brick of TNT. Then, I guess, you can say “just cut it with a knife”.
But I’ve no idea. I’m not an expert in explosives.
So, please. Next time you are about to offer a simple solution that uses “just”, do think whether you really know it’s that easy.
Just be careful. It’s seldom “just”.
Take care and stop aggressors.
